National Meet of RSETI StakeHolders for Recognition of Best Performers
National meet of RSETI stakeholders for recognition of best performers was held on 21.11.2013 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi by MoRD, Govt. of India to commemorate the second Anniversary of signing a historic MoU between MoRD & National Academy of RUDSETI. The awards were given away in a glittering function by Sri Jairam Ramesh, Hon'ble Minister for Rural Development, Govt. of India in the presence of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Hon. Chairman, National Advisory Council for RSETIs, Sri L C Goyal, Secretary and Sri T Vijay Kumar, Joint Secretary, MoRD, Sri Sudhir Kumar Jain, CMD of SyndicateBank and Sri R K Dubey, CMD, Canara Bank and other top level officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Jairam Ramesh mentioned that RSETIs set up by different Banks will be successful only if the sponsor Banks take the programme as a part of their main activity and not under Corporate Social Responsibility. RSETIs set up by various Banks shall give more focus on developing minimum infrastructure in all their RSETIs so that effective training can be provided to the unemployed youth, he said.
The Bankers' perspective on RSETI movement was presented by Sri Sudhir Kumar Jain, CMD of SyndicateBank wherein he emphasized on opening of RSETIs even at the Taluka Levels so that more number of unemployed youth get the benefit of training under various self employment activities. By doing so, he said that RSETIs can play a pivotal role in financial inclusion by providing need based training to the last person in the command area.
Thereafter, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Sri L. C. Goyal, Secretary, Sri T. Vijay Kumar, Joint Secretary from MoRD, alongwith Sri Sudhir Kumar Jain, CMD of SyndicateBank & Sri R. K. Dubey, CMD of Canara Bank released the Annual Activities Report of Monitoring Cell, All India Directory of RSETIs and 'Yashopath', a compendium of Success Stories of Entrepreneurs trained by various RSETIs.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Hon. Chairman, National Advisory Council for RSETIs, expressed his happiness that RUDSETI which was started in a humble way back in 1982 has today become a flagship programme of MoRD. He hoped that the award ceremony conducted by MoRD will galvanise and motivate all the Directors of RSETIs not only to perform better but also excel the original RUDSETIs. He urged upon the Banks to finance the needy and eligible RSETI trained candidates to set up their own ventures.
Sri T. Vijay Kumar, Joint Secretary, MoRD welcomed the gathering. Sri R. K. Dubey, Chairman & Managing Director, Canara Bank, and Sri L C Goyal, Secretary MoRD spoke on the expectations of MoRD and the grading system adopted for rating the RSETIs. Chairmen & Manging Directors of Vijaya Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Managing Directors of State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, Executive Directors of Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Punjab National Bank, UCO Bank, President: ICICI Foundation, Executive President: J & K Bank, Chief General Manager: State Bank of India, Principal Secretaries from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Bihar and other States and other top Executives of various Banks and all the State Project Co-ordinators of Monitoring Cell were also present on the occasion. Sri K. N. Janardhana, Chief Project Co-ordinator, Monitoring Cell who took lead role in organizing this beautiful function proposed vote of thanks.
Sri K N Janardhana, Chief Project Co-ordinator, Monitoring Cell for RSETIs, Sri H Somashekar, Director General, National Academy of RUDSETI, Top perfoming Bankers & State Governments and 233 Directors of various RUDSETIs/RSETIs were awarded trophies and certificates of excellence on the occasion.
