Third Conclave of RSETI Directors of Punjab National Bank - A Brief Report
A two-day Conclave of Directors of RSETIs sponsored by Punjab National Bank was organized at PNB Zonal Training Centre, Rajendra Place, New Delhi on 22nd and 23rd November, 2013. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Rakesh Gupta, General Manager. In his inaugural address Dr Rakesh Gupta called on the RSETI Directors to work with concern for the unemployed youth and commitment to the RSETI.
Later in the day Sri Rakesh Sethi, Executive Director and Chairman of PNB Centenary Rural Development Trust (PNBCRDT) delivered a key-note address and said that poverty and unemployment are the main problems of rural India and these can be solved only through skill development. The RSETIs offer unique and short term residential training, designed specifically for rural youth with the objective to bring in positive attitudinal changes resulting in increased self-confidence, awareness, understanding knowledge, skill and higher motivation for self-employment, he said.
On the second day, Smt Renuka Kumar, Dy Secretary, MoRD, Government of India, New Delhi, explained in detail the expectations from MoRD in RSETI movement and requested the Bank management to address the gaps identified in the Conclave. Forty Four RSETI Directors from Punjab National Bank participated in the Conclave.
